Sallie Mae, the nation’s leading student loan provider, will bring 700 new jobs to the Muncie, IN area by opening a debt collection center. Employees at the center will contact student loan clients across the nation to provide debt counseling.

The new business, announced Monday, will fill an empty building at a business park near the Delaware County Airport. Sallie Mae will add 300 jobs this year, another 200 in 2007 and the rest in 2008.
