Columbia Ultimate, the industry expert in providing software and integrated solutions for collecting money, today announced the release of ManageMed 3.0, the latest version of its account receivables software for the healthcare industry.

Hospitals, healthcare facilities and agencies can rely on ManageMed to improve existing practice management systems to compress the overall timeframe required to collect the balance from the patient, as well as the primary and secondary insurance companies. The software can boost staff productivity, increase cash flow and automate accounts receivables activities to reduce AR days.

ManageMed 3.0 includes several new enhancements including a Charity Care function to better assess and facilitate the application of charity care cases. Users will be able to quickly and easily access charity care eligibility tables, track charity care events, and produce reports on results. ManageMed 3.0 also features an account view only function to provide users the ability to view an account at the same time from two or more workstations. One user will have the ability to update the account while the other user can view the account.

?Assessment and application of charity care is one of the hottest issues today in the healthcare accounts receivable management industry,? said R. Fred Houston, president and CEO, Columbia Ultimate. ?Providers are continually looking for ways to effectively determine the eligibility of guarantors for charity care and streamline the process for providing this type of financial assistance. We are pleased to provide a feature within ManageMed that will now enable providers to better manage charity care while keeping a focus on the most important task at hand, taking care of patients.?
