Nigerian National Sentenced in ChoicePoint ID Theft Case

A Nigerian national who pleaded guilty to identity theft charges related to information stolen from Georgia-based consumer data collector ChoicePoint Inc. was sentenced earlier in February to 10 years in prison and ordered to pay $6.5 million in restitution.

Olatunji Oluwatosin, 42, of North Hollywood, CA, was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Bob Bowers Jr.

Oluwatosin pleaded guilty in December to conspiracy to commit computer access fraud and grand theft, the district attorney’s office said in a statement.
