Myrtle Beach has fired a collection agency for using overly aggressive methods to pursue unpaid parking tickets.


The city terminated its agreement with Wisconsin-based Citation Management on Feb. 2 and is in talks with another company to take over the collections process. In violation of the agreement, Citation Management contacted people with outstanding fines by telephone, according to a letter from the city to the agency.
