Justice Department Awards Accenture $54 million Debt Collection System Contract

Global consulting firm Accenture announced Tuesday that it had been selected to build a debt collection system for the U.S. Department of Justice. Accenture was awarded a contract encompassing a multi-year base period and eight option periods to deliver a new integrated debt collection system to DOJ and all of its component organizations, including the U.S. Attorneys Offices and the department’s tax and litigation divisions and offices of the CFO and CIO.

Under the terms of the agreement, Accenture also will provide operations and maintenance of the deployed system throughout the life of the contract. If all options are exercised and additional services purchased under the indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) portion of the contract, the contract value is estimated to be $54 million.

By consolidating multiple legacy collection systems into a single integrated system, Accenture will enable the Justice Department – the U.S. federal government’s collector of last resort – to improve communications and reporting, provide better financial controls, and enhance data integrity.
